The Sultanate hosted yesterday participants from different countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) to participate in the Vaccine Management Training Course. The Ministry of Health (MOH) with the collaboration of World Health Organization (WHO) is hosting this first of its kind event at the Middle East level. The opening ceremony was under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Ali Talib AL Hanai, MOH’S Undersecretary of Planning Affairs, at the Park Inn, attended by a number of the Ministry’s senior officials.
The six-day training course aims at exchanging expertise between the participants in order to contribute in the development of vaccine management and finding solutions for the challenges faced in their countries. Moreover, the course trains the participated delegates on the vaccine and cold chain management from the manufacturer to its administration to the target population as well as training them on the practical method used in the storage of the vaccines whether in central, regional or in the health facility stores.
It is worth mentioning that the choice of the Sultanate as a certified International training center on vaccine management by the WHO was based on the Sultanate’s accomplishments in the vaccine management that complied with the terms and standards.
