National Child Maltreatment Management Training Workshop
The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by Women and Child Health Department and in collaboration with The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has recently organized a training workshop on child maltreatment management at the City Seasons Hotel. Around 27 doctors from different Governorates as well as 3 social specialists from the Ministry of Social Development had participated in this training workshop.
The four-day training workshop is part of the implementation of the 8th Five Year Plan (2011-2015) of MOH objectives to improve the quality of health services delivered to children particularly the victims of maltreatment and disabled children.
The workshop covered various topics related to child maltreatment such as ways to identify maltreatment cases and factors, different types of maltreatment and diagnosis mechanisms, case reporting, and diagnosis and treatment services delivery.
Eventually, after providing training to the participants and evaluating them, the qualified trainers will conduct similar training courses per her/his Governorates.
