Communication between Physicians & Librarians Symposium
The 5th Medical Information Symposium was held today (Wednesday) at the Royal Hospital (RH) under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Darweesh Saif Al Muharbi, MOH’s Undersecretary of Administrative & Financial Affairs, with the attendance of Dr. Qasim Al Salmei, RH’s Director General, under the theme of “Communication between Physicians & Librarians: The impact of Technologies on Healthcare”. The symposium is organized by the Special library Association, Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLA/AGC) in collaboration with the Royal Hospital Medical Library.
The two-day symposium aims at developing an essential roadmap, strategies and initiatives. In addition, it shapes as an assistance tool that enables the health & information professionals to cooperate in order to establish plans for implementing health information into health settings. Moreover, the symposium aims to improve healthcare quality emphasizing the rule of health/medical information latest technology.
It should be noted that the symposium attracted more than 130 participants including medical librarians, physicians, hospital directors, medical students, nurses and other paramedical & healthcare staff.
