Under the theme ‘Towards excellence in Pharmacy Practices’, the Directorate General of Medical Supplies is planning to conduct a two-day conference on pharmaceutical care in line with the Ministry of Health’s Continuing Professional Development Program. The conference is set to take place from 3-4 February at Al Bustan Palace Hotel- Oman auditorium.
Based on its previous successes, the 6th Pharmaceutical care Conference will attract over 500 pharmacists, assistant pharmacists, physicians, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals dedicated to Hospital Pharmacy practices, research skills, evidence based practices and patient safety best practices from different parts of the world.
The conference will join distinguished international speakers from highly recognized organizations such as Saudi Food & Drug Authority, Institute for Safe Medication Practice (ISMP), and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) from United States of America.
The Conference aims at describing the evolving pharmacy practice in the coming future and discussing the role and responsibilities of the medication safety employee or individual responsible for medication safety oversight. Moreover, it will identify key elements of a medication safety program and strategic plan. The conference also will focus on the importance of drug coding systems in the context of decision support.
