The Department of Rational Use of Medicine (DRUM) of the Ministry of Health conducted today (Wednesday) a workshop on Medicine Clinical Audit at the Oman Assistant Pharmacist Institute. The workshop will continue for two days with more than 50 attendants from clinical pharmacists.
According to Ph. Batool Jaffer Sulieman, DRUM Director, this workshop is one-of-its-kind as it is carried out in implementation of the Occupational Training and Development programme for the new section of the department, Medicine Evaluation and Clinical Follow-up.
The workshop highlights the practical applications performed for the medical prescriptions clinical auditing to assure their compliance with the scientific practices and protocols approved by the High Technical Committee for Drug headed by H.E. Undersecretary for Health Affairs. Moreover, the workshop strengthens methods of cooperation between doctors and pharmacists in order to achieve the safe and rational use of medicine. Such cooperation will have positive effect on the patients’ health and mitigate wasting of drug’s financial resources.
