The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Women & Child Health Department in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) organized today (Tuesday) a national training workshop on maternal mortality at the hall of Continuing Medical Education in Al-Wotya.
The two-day workshop aims at studying and reviewing the maternal mortality on the basis of assessing the maternal morbidity and mortality. In addition to strengthening the monitor and follow-up system of maternal mortality in order to improve the quality of services provided to the pregnant women.
It is worth mentioning that, this workshop comes within the framework of the Ministry’s readiness to introduce the investigation system of the maternal mortality in collaboration with the Motherhood & Childhood Center in Liverpool University through conducting a cross sectional study.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Qasmi, Director General of Planning and Studies along with number of senior officials of the Ministry.
