In accordance with the celebration of the World Hand Hygiene Day which is marked on May 5th of every year, the Royal Hospital (RH) represented by the Infection Control Department organized today (Wednesday) the Hand Hygiene Campaign at the hospital Main Reception hall and entrances. The Campaign was held with the presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, and number of RH officials.
The three-day Campaign aims at strengthening the commitment of the healthcare workers to hand hygiene as well as promoting community awareness on the significant role of hand hygiene in preventing diseases infection.
The Campaign includes an educational programmes; most importantly of which is training the patients and health workers on the proper method in hand hygiene caring and times when hand sterilization is necessary. It allocates also a health awareness corner along with fixing introductory Panels on the good practices while coughing and sneezing. Moreover, the Campaign conducts visits to the hospital’s in-patients in order to educate them about the advantages of self and hand hygiene
