Health Minister Honors Diabetes Training Program Outcomes15/5/2016
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, was briefed on Thursday on the training program that was designed by the Training & Occupational Development department at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center (NDEC). The Minister was told about the program components, candidates’ selection mechanism, the training phases, and assessment.
Upon completing the training program in diabetes, an Honoring Ceremony was held under the auspices of H.E. the minister at the Heart Center’s Lectures Hall in the Royal Hospital (RH). The ceremony was attended by number of MOH’s senior officials as well as training program team.
This ceremony came in recognition of all the efforts exerted in the process of preparing and conducting a high-standard program in diabetes that contributes in creating fully-fledge staff capable of providing therapeutic services for the diabetics.
The trainees, comprised of 22 doctors from different Governorates, have completed a six-month training program where they developed skills on both theoretical and clinical aspects. The program further shaped the doctors’ communication skills as to raise awareness on diabetes and prevent any complications.
