Royal Hospital Launches Adolescent Medicine Department
Out of the Royal Hospital’s keenness in promoting the health care system in the Sultanate and keep up with the latest diagnostic and treatment specialized services at the international level, the Royal Hospital launched recently the Adolescent Medicine Department, which is the first of its kind in the Sultanate.
The aim of introducing this new department is to provide an accurate diagnostic and therapeutic environment for the adolescents between ten to eighteen years old. In addition to strengthening the community awareness on the communicable diseases that accompany the adolescence in terms of the causes, symptoms, treatment methods and ways of prevention. Furthermore, providing consultancy and guidance services on the way of dealing with the wrong behaviors in this age.
Dr. Nahid Jaber, head of the Department pointed out that this age group is one of the most important age groups. The Sultanate represented by the Royal Hospital is one of the first Middle East countries in introduction of Adolescent Medicine.”
