Continuing Professional Development Center Approved an International BLS Center
The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by the Continuing Professional Development Center (CPDC) signed recently an agreement with the American Heart Association (AHA) regarding approving the CPDC as an International center for Basic Life Support (BLS) Programs.
The agreement grants the center to offer Basic and Advanced Life Support programs as well as training the instructors on these programs. The trainees must complete certain courses to obtain a certification approved by the AHA. The required courses in such programs include basic and advanced CPR, first aid, in addition to Introduction to BLS Programs course for the instructors.
Prior to the accreditation process, two employees from the Center were authorized to attend a training course on Life-Support Programs’ Administration and Coordination. Afterwards, an AHA’s counselor visited the Center to assess its organization, performance, preparedness, as well as Instructors’ Competency. The Center obtained a 100% according to the specified standards.
It is worth mentioning that the MOH is adhering to equipping the Center’s Laboratories with the latest modern device and equipment that are needed for the training, along with providing a set of learning resources that include references, periodicals, books, and CDs.
