Within the Blood Donation Awareness Campaigns carried out during the Holy month of Ramadan, which are organized by the Department of Blood Banks Services in collaboration with the community’s different Voluntary teams, a number of campaigns were led in the past days in Muscat Governorate with the aim of encouraging the individuals to donate blood during Ramadan.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has intensified blood donation campaigns in order to meet the daily demands of blood units and components. For instance, a campaign was organized yesterday (Tuesday) at the building of Blood Banks Services Department with the collaboration of one of voluntary teams affiliated with the Oman Network of Volunteers (Taawon). The idea of this campaign came as the calls through the social networks to donate blood recurred, in addition to raising the community awareness on the importance of regular donation to contribute in giving life to other souls. Members of the Oman Hereditary Blood Disorder Association (OHBDA) along with prominent figures in the community were present in yesterday’s campaigns at Haei Al Marefa’ Mosque and Al Sayeed Hamad bin Humood Mosque.
It should be noted that the Blood Donation Campaign would continue from 8 pm to 11:30 pm in various places during the Holy month. The campaign will be carried out in Al Shiakh Hilal Al Khalili Mosque and Um Al Qura’ Mosque on 17th of Ramadan (Tomorrow). On the 20th the campaign will be run at both Al Shaikh Mohammed bin Omair Al Hanai in Al Khodh, and near Rawsco Al Khawer. On the 21th of Ramadan, it will be near Nesto and Muttrah corniche. The campaign will be at A’seeb souq opposite to Abna’ Furaish and Aswaq Al Ain in Al Mabilah on the 22 Ramadan, and on the 23rd the team will both next to Al Waleed Pharmacy at Souq Al Khodh and Mazoon Complex in Ruwi. On the 26th Ramadan at Ramiz in A’seeb, and at last two campaigns will be organized on 27th Ramadan at Souq Al Khodh one next to Al Waleed Pharmacy, and another at Muttrah corniche.
