The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by Al Nahdha Hospital’s Nose, Ear and Throat (ENT) Department organized on Tuesday an event to mark the World Head and Neck Cancer Day, which is part of the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncology Societies (IFHNOS). The celebration aimed to introduce head, neck, nose, ear, and throat cancers and spread awareness to community individuals. The event further presented prevention and early detection methods, and treatment. A specialized team was also present at the event to offer clinical screening to the hospital’s visitors.
A number of recovered patients, who have defeated the illness by committing to the treatment besides their strong wellness, participated in this event. With this regard, Dr. Salma Al Shebani, the National Coordinator and ENT Senior Consultant pointed out that there is a plan to form a support group to help the newly diagnosed patients to benefit from those recovered.
