In light of the Brucellosis’ outbreak in Al Batinah North Governorate, an expanded meeting of H.E. Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOAF) was held Yesterday at the MOH headquarter. H.E. Dr. Mohammad Saif Al Hosani, MOH’s Undersecretary of Health Affairs presided over the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the situation of the disease in the Sultanate and highlighted the epidemiological situation in Northern parts where 51 Brucellosis cases were recorded this year. Accordingly, a task force was formed with the aim of identifying source of infection hence control it.   It further discussed the Brucellosis Disease Control Program and mechanisms in the Sultanate.

The meeting concluded with recommendations that stressed on the importance of disease’s eradication by establishing a joint Plan of Action that involves all related authorities.
