Health Ministry Organizes Workshop on Natural Hazards Management

The Ministry of Health represented by the Crises and Emergency Management Center and in collaboration with the Disaster Management Centre in Bournemouth University, UK organized today Sunday a workshop on Natural Hazards Management at Hotel Muscat Holiday.
The five-day workshop discusses several issues related to the natural hazards and the role of human in its occurrence and the ways to avoid it, developing the effective early warning systems, the earthquakes, floods and other naturals disasters that have occurred recently, monitoring and registering the natural hazards, contact with the public before, during and after disasters, as well as problems faced by response process and risk reduction.
The workshop program is also include lectures in the field of risk management, practical training on responding cyclones and visits to the National Multi-Hazards Early Warning Center, Public Authority for Civil Aviation and Royal Oman Police Aviation.
Directors general of health services in the Governorates, heads of emergency sections, staff of Crises and Emergency Management Center and number of concerned authorities are participating in this workshop.
