The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Child & Women Health Department organized today Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Muscat a training workshop for the health workers on how to deal with violence cases against children.

The three-day training workshop aimed to train and prepare 33 doctors from all governorates, as well as MOH representatives in Child Health Committees on dealing with violence cases. In addition to promote the training capacities of the national trainers.

Doctors from the Royal Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Education will participate in this workshop to train the participants.

The workshop includes several topics related to children abuse, for instance how to identify the abuse cases, cofactors of abuse in each age group, different types and diagnosis of abuse, children with special needs, the way of reporting the abuse cases and diagnosis and providing therapy services. One of the main topics that will be discussed is the primary and secondary abuse prevention ways, as well as the rehabilitation services for child victims.
