The open day of celebration of World Heart Day commenced today Tuesday under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Marwan bin Turkey Al Said, Director General for Development Research & Studies in the Supreme Council for Planning at the Grand Mall Muscat.

The celebration, which is came under the theme “Power Your Life”, organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Hospital Affairs & Specialized Medical Centers Department in the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care and in collaboration with the Oman Heart Association and National Heart Center.

The event aimed at familiarize the participants to the latest medical developments on heart diseases by reducing risks related to behaviors and lifestyles. In addition to warning the community to the heart diseases risks, as well as providing advices and health information to the community members.

The event has an exhibition including measuring pressure, heartbeat, diabetes, body mass and weight, as well as training the attendees on the artificial respiration and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
