80th Conference of GCC Health Ministers’ Council Kick-off with Sultanate Participation
The 41st Session of the 80th Conference of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council began today Thursday in the Saudi capital, AL-Riyadh with the Sultanate participation. The Sultanate’s delegation to the 41st Session is led by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health.
The conference, which hosted by the Saudi Arabia, will discuss a number of technical issues related to combating non-communicable diseases, infection control, occupational health, quality and patient safety, as well as adopting Princess Al-Jawhara Center for Molecular Medicine & Inherited Disorders as an authorized Gulf center.
The 80th conference will also discuss issues related to the central drug registry, expatriate workers check-up program, standardized purchase, pharmaceuticals and supplies of oral and dental care, hospital supplies and artificial kidney, supplies of medical laboratories and blood transfusion services, supplies of cardiovascular surgery and interventional radiology, supplies of ophthalmology and ENT, orthopedic and spine surgery supplies and medical rehabilitation. In addition to discuss a number of financial and administrative affairs of the Executive Board of the GCC Council of Ministers of Health.
In conjunction with the 80th conference, Dr. al-Saidi will chair the Sultanate’s delegation in the meeting of ministerial committee of the GCC Secretarial General. The meeting’s agenda includes number of health issues related to joint health work among the GCC countries, such as reports of the supreme council and ministerial board in the field of health and its implementation.
