The Prosthetic & Orthotic Department at Khoula Hospital launched recently latest prosthesis devices for (13) patients in a contract with one of the specialized companies with an amount of (335597) R.O.

The prosthesis devices includes two types: the Be Bionic which is an advanced artificial upper limb allow the patient to hold small objects and the second type is the Cosmetic prosthesis that used for cosmetic purposes.

On this regard, Dr. Ali bin Mahad al-Ma’shani, Director General of Khoula Hospital pointed out that increasing the traffic accidents, as well as the steady rising in diabetes are the two main reasons of limb amputation in various countries around the World. He also added that, limb amputation is often leads the patients to introversion and social problems and the main goal of prosthesis is rehabilitating patients and helping them to continue their lives normally.
