Health Minister Receives His Brunei Counterpart

H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saidi, Minister of Health received in his office on Thursday H.E. Dr. Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health in Brunei Darussalam and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the Sultanate for several days.

H.E. Dr. Al Saidi welcomed the H.E. the guest and the accompanying delegation, wishing the two friendly countries for more progress in their relations especially in the field of health. Afterward, the minister  reviewed the Sultanate’s health services progression in different levels.

From his side, the Brunei health minister thanked the Omani side and praised upon the advancements done regarding the economic and social fields and above all are the development in the healthcare services. He further spoke about his homeland healthcare services. 

The guest minister pointed out that the two sides are looking forward more collaboration and exchanging of experiences in the fields of primary healthcare services, pharmaceutical industry, and medical education. 

The meeting was attended by the MOH Undersecretaries as well as the health affairs’ advisor, and number of top officials. 

Within his visit, the guest minister attended the open day event that the Oman Diabetes Association (ODA) held with the collaboration of MOH at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Busher on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.

Then, the Brunei guest and his accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Royal Hospital where he was briefed on the services delivered and the modern equipment used in the National Heart Center and the Nation Oncology Center. Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health in Brunei Darussalam visited the North Al-Khuwair Health Center to view the work progress and the services delivered in the primary healthcare centers.
