National Oncology Center Earns International Accreditation Certificate

Due to the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic care in the field of oncology, the National Oncology Center at the Royal Hospital gained recently the International Accreditation Certificate by the European Society of Oncology and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as one of the privileged centers in the field of oncology, radiation therapy and palliative care at the international level.

This international accreditation comes as an interpretation of the vision of the Ministry of Health, represented by the National Oncology Center, to the importance of keeping up the latest diagnostic and therapeutic types and standards followed by the countries and health institutions in the field of oncology. The National Oncology Center constantly keep pace with the scientific and technological flow in the field of oncology, in order to provide an excellent treatment services for the patients form all over the Sultanate’s Governorates based on the latest and new studies and techniques in treating the oncology diseases.      

Concerning this achievement, Dr. Basim al-Bahrani, Director of the National Oncology Center stated that: “the National Oncology Center earned this international accreditation due to its conformity with the standard criteria in the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic health care provided by the center to all patients. In addition to the specialized and competence medical and nursing staff working in the center, the latest technologies and medical equipment, as well as the staff trained in the field of palliative care and pain control. Along with the role of the Center in enriching and preparing researches and studies in the field of tumors, organizing community activities.”
