MOH Holds Workshop on GPP
25/12/2016The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs & Drug Control held recently at Sheraton Oman Hotel the 12th Workshop on the Basics of Good Pharmacy Practices (GPP) for workers at the private pharmaceutical institutions under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Taleb al-Hina’i, MOH undersecretary for Planning Affairs.
Over 500 participants from various private pharmaceutical institutions from the Sultanate’s Governorates were attended the workshop. Along with the directors of pharmaceutical care, drug warehouses, as well as heads of drug control sections in the Governorates.
The workshop aimed to raise the practical and professional performance of the pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.
The workshop included scientific sessions on the latest therapeutic innovations for diabetic patients, pharmaceutical counseling for patients with high blood pressure, latest developments on asthma, and proper ways of disposal of damaged and expired drugs. In addition to a lecture on the Law of Regulating the Profession of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Establishments issued by the Royal Decree No. 35/ 2015.
The program of the workshop also included honoring number of outstanding pharmacists and pharmacy assistants working in private sector, as well as five private pharmaceutical institutions.
The chief guest inaugurated the exhibition organized by the pharmaceutical firms and institutions sponsoring the event. The exhibition displayed the latest scientific and pharmaceutical innovations of these firms.
