H.E. Dr. Ahmad Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health opened yesterday  Monday the Khoula Hospital’s new building that consists of Outpatient Clinics, Rehabilitation, and Day Care Surgery. The building is new addition to the healthcare services delivered by the MOH in general and by the Khoula Hospital in particular. It confirms the principle of social responsibility among private sector institutions in supporting the multi-governmental projects since this project was supported by Suhail Bahwan Group.

The opening ceremony was commenced by a speech delivered by Dr. Ali Muhad Al Ma’shani, the hospital’s director general where he affirmed the shared purpose  of the unconditional cooperation between the government and private sectors to  promote all aspects of services in the Sultanates. Dr. Al Ma’shani pointed out that such unlimited support has resulted in the construction of one of most important project for the Ministry of Health to meet the current growing demands; that is Khoula’s new building.

At the end of the ceremony, H.E. Dr. Ahmad Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health officially announced the new building open and then he and the attendees toured the new building’s sections.

The three-storey building cost OR 8 million and set in area of more than 11 thousands meter squares. The ground floor consists more than 33 clinic that offer services of 9 specilaties such as Neurology surgeries clinics, cosmetic surgery, hand, and general surgeries clinics, dressing clinics, diabetic foot clinics. These clinics would facilitate examination process and reduce the load of patients.  The ground floor also includes the largest swimming pool for Hydrotherapy (water cure) equipped with modern technology and rooms.

The first floor is specified for rehabilitation to provide therapies for all types of rehabilitation. It is considered the main largest center in the Sultanate containing the latest devices and equipment with the capacity to admit patients during the period of physical and rehabilitative therapy. It includes physiotherapy section with male and female wards, as well as Occupational rehabilitation facility, speech rehabilitation facility, and others. 

The third floor contains four operation theaters equipped with the newest devices and has two wards for male and female admission. It is set for receiving cases that require hospitalization for less than 24 hours duration after undergoing surgery.The section would reduce the waiting period for those requiring day surgeries.

It is worth noted that the Outpatient Clinics have already started receiving patients a month ago, while the Rehabilitation and Day Care Surgery sections started functioning at the beginning of the new year. 

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Suhail Sailm Bahwan Al Mkhaini, Chairman of Suhail Bahwan Group, and number of the ministry’s senior officials.
