The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by the Directorate General of Human Resources Development (DGHRD) - Quality Assurance Section held today Wednesday a forum for the MOH educational Institutes on the preparation for the second stage of Institutional Accreditation. The forum was held at the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Auditorium under the auspice of H.E. Dr. Ali Talib Al Hanai, MOH’s Undersecretary for Planning Affairs and with the presence of the Deans and focal points of Quality Assurance in the health institutes.
Dr. Nada Al Moosa, Head of Quality Assurance Section at the DGHRD pointed out that the main objective of this forum is to get a head start of the MOH educational institutes to work together in preparing and planning for institutional accreditation that is approaching soon in 2019.
Moreover, the Forum aimed at introducing the Institutes to the requirements for completing the institutional accreditation as well as improving the current statue through feedbacks and recommendations.
The forum introduced the institutional standards assessment and highlighted the importance of self-assessment before starting the accreditation. It further discussed the draft work plan towards institutional Accreditation and the quality audit of Foundation program so to meet the standards determined by the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).
