MOH Organizes Blood Donation Campaign

With the aim of promoting the role of public organizations and employees in the humanitarian and community responsibility represented in saving the lives of patients, the Central Blood Bank conducted on Monday a blood donation campaign at the Ministry of Health (MOH) headquarter to collect blood units from personnel and visitors wishing to donate.

The campaign witnessed a notable success and turnout from the Ministry’s employees and visitors whereby each person donated 450 ML of blood.

In addition, these campaigns are aimed to supply the hospitals with blood units needed for blood transfusion.

To donate blood, individual should be healthy, fit and eligible. Donors must be between 18-65 years of age, weight 50kg and above, and the hemoglobin value must be between 13-18 g/dl for males and between 12-17 g/dl for females. Before proceeding, the doctor will explain further the conditions to donors.
