In recognition of the efforts exerted by the Royal hospital’s National Heart Center (NHC), a ceremony was held today Monday to honor its excellent staff.
On this occasion, Dr. Salim Al Maskari, NHC Director praised the staff for their dedicated and sincere work that resulted in great achievement in the quality and quantity of the Center’s services towards the patients. He pointed out that last year witnessed the zero waiting list for Cardiac Catheterization as well as reducing the length of preoperative stay from almost 2-3 weeks to 2-3 days for all semi-urgent cases. Furthermore, the hospital represented by the NHC has achieved the Accreditation Canada International (ACI) Certification, which is a leading healthcare service organization that proves the hospital’s compliance with international health care quality standards.
The ceremony also included presentations of achievements accomplished by all the Center Departments. At the end, certifications were distributed to the excellent departments and distinguished employees.
It is noted that the NHC has performed several innovative surgeries including the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implementation (TAVI), 3d mapping ablation, and Cryo-ablation. The Center participated in number of international events such as performing a live surgery on Total Occlusion & Bifurcation Techniques (TOBI) in a conference in Italy. Moreover, approximately 26 thousand patients received the NHC services among them were 6200 patients underwent operations in the Cardiac Catheterization laboratory and 1000 patients were operated in the Operation Theatre.
