The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Non-communicable Diseases Department in the Directorate General of Primary Health Care and in collaboration with the Oman Respiratory Society organized on Mondaythe launching ceremony of Asthma Awareness Month at lectures hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
The launching ceremony, which comes under the theme “Better Air – Better Breathing” was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Ya’rub al-Busaidi, MOH Advisor for Health Affairs and participation of number of directors general in the Ministry.
Dr. Said al-Lamki, Director General of Primary Health Care said in his speech that asthma is a common disease and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that there are 300 million people in the World is infected with asthma.
The ceremony also includes honoring the best asthma clinics and the best initiative in promoting asthma program.
