An event on community mental health was organized on Thursday by the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Nursing Department in Al-Masarrah Hospital at Muscat Grand Mall under the patronage of Janab Al Sayyida Basma bint Fakhri Al Said.

The two-day event aimed at raising awareness among the community members on psychological conditions that may infect by family members in order to arise a generation aware of the importance of mental health. It also aimed to familiarize the community that most people may go through difficult times and suffer from psychological problems that may require intervention by the specialists. 

The awareness program included various activities for all categories, patients handicrafts exhibition, photography, drawing and entertainment corner for children, a presentation about addiction, a corner to experience the symptoms of mental illness, as well as psychological counselling corner.
