Awareness Birth Spacing Event at Al Nahdah Health Center
The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by Al Nahdah Health Center at Al’amerat in collaboration with the department of Women & Child Health organized today Monday an awareness day for Birth Spacing campaign. The event was held under the auspices of H.E. Sayyed Dr. Sultan Ya’rub Al Busaidi, MOH’s Advisor for Health Affairs, and with the attendance of H.E. Dr. Yahya Al Nadabi, Walyee of Al’amerat, number of MOH directors, in addition to medical staff and school students.
The program was commenced by a speech delivered by Dr. Hadia Al Lwatia, Director of Al Nahdah Health Center. Dr. Al Lawatia highlighted the Birth Spacing programme in the Sultanate and the significance of it on the mother as well on the child. She pointed out that the birth spacing clinic of the health center is open all the day with a well-qualified staff.
The event, that came under the theme (give them a chance to grow up) included several activities that addressed the topic of birth spacing in different methods. A lecture was presented by Al Sheikh Salim Al Numani, where he spoke about the role of women towards her family and community as well as the importance of birth spacing as it achieves psychological and social stability. In addition, the program of the event included a song on the mother by Mahmood Al Hamhami, and an artistic display on women demonstrated by Rwad Al Ola School students.
Moreover, the patron of the event inaugurated the accompanying exhibition that contains many sections such as breastfeeding, pregnant health, and a corner for the Omani Women Association. On the sideline of the event, winners who participated in the birth spacing competition were awarded.
