Al Wusta Health Services Coordination & Follow-up Committee Meets

H.E. Dr. Darweesh Saif Al Maharbi, Ministry of Health’s Undersecretary for Administrative & Financial Affairs, presided today (Tuesday) over the first meeting of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee for Al Wusta Health Servicesat the Governorate Directorate General of Health Services building. The meeting was held to follow up the provision of healthcare at the Governorate of Al Wusta in addition to examine the obstacles and challenges that encountered the implementation and the development of workflow in the Governorate.
The meeting reviewed a range of topics most important of which were scoping the health statue and the strategic development healthcare services plans at the Governorate. It further followed up plans and policies of the health programs on the level of the Governorate health institutions, as well as the goals that are needed to be achieved in the different health and administrative indicators. Moreover, the meeting outlined plans of epidemical, medical, public health response and preparedness at cases of emergency and crises. It addressed the issues of supporting the communication with the governmental, non-governmental, and community sectors. The meeting also discussed visiting the health institutions with the aim of promoting areas of supervising and quality.
It is worth to mention that the formation of the Governorates’ Coordination & Follow-up Committees came under a Ministerial Decision ( 131/ 2017), stipulating that the meetings should be presided over by the MOH Undersecretaries as well as the MOH Advisor for Health Affairs, and the membership of the Governorate Health Services Director General, Referral Hospital Director, Director of Primary Health Care, Director of Administrative Affairs, Director of Financial Affairs, Director of Nursing, in addition to the Director of the Governorate Planning and Studies ( as a member and rapporteur).
Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Al Maharbi visited Haima hospital where he was briefed on the workflow of the hospital’s different departments. He further met the administrations and the health workers of the hospital and reviewed with them the the statue of the instituation health services. He additionally received the opinions of the visiting clients on how to improve the quality of the delivered services.
His Excellency was accompanied by Khalifa Al Y’aqoobi, Director General of the Health Services at the Governorate as well as number of officials.
