the Ultrasonography Training course, which is organized by the Royal Hospital (RH) represented by Fetal Medicine Unit, in collaboration with the Women & Child Department as well as the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) started today Sunday. The opening ceremony was held at the Royal Hospital main Auditorium under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosni, Ministry of Health’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, and with the presence of the ISUOG Regional Representative Pro. Hisham AlMirghani, as well as number of MOH officials.
The 5-day training course aims at qualifying 30 specialists from the Sultanate’s different health institutions in order to train doctors on using Ultrasound in pregnancy. The program as well provides trainers with the latest obstetric ultrasound techniques and covers a range of ultrasound related obstetric and gynecological subjects.
Within the opening of the course, H.E. Dr. Al Hosni launched Ultrasound Simulator device (SCANTRAINER) that incorporates various software of fetal and gynecological diseases assessment. The device is the first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate and its introduction would promote Ultrasound for Healthcare Professionals. Moreover, the device facilitates early detection of any possible congenital abnormalities thus reduces diagnosis errors.
