Health Organizes National Medical Rapid Response Team Workshop
The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by the Directorate General for Specialized Medical Health, in collaboration with the Center for Emergency & Crisis Management (CECM) conducted today (Monday) the first workshop for the National Medical Emergency Team. The workshop took place at Tulip Inn, Muscat under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosni, Ministry of Health’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs, with the presence of Dr. Rashid Hamad Al Badi, the Director of MOH Center for Emergency & Crisis Management (CECM).
The workshop targetedadministrative, medical, technical cadres involved in the process of emergency response with the aim of qualifying them with high-level of effectiveness during emergency and crises situations, as well as enabling them to participate efficiently in the immediate and supportive missions in the Sultanate’s different Governorates.
The training serves the improvement of participants’ efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with emergencies, and provides the highest levels of preparedness and readiness in emergency occurrences. The formation of this team would ensure the provision of best medical care services in all health institutions during an emergency, as well as mitigating its impact. Most importantly, it will ensure the safety of all members of the community through a rapid, coordinated, and effective response to emergencies.
Members of the team comprise ten physicians from the professions of surgery, anesthesia, and emergency, in addition to 15 nurses from surgery, intensive unit, and emergency department.
It should be noted that the CECM is seeking to qualify the national medical rapid response team through the conduction of regional and international courses with the assistance of experts in the field of emergency medical response. Today’s workshop is considered the first for the team and will be followed by several training courses as well as field trainings in the next phases.
