Respiratory Care Practical Workshop on Pediatrics Begins
7/11/2017The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care organized today Tuesday the 2nd Respiratory Care Practical Workshop on Pediatrics at the Royal Hospital main Auditorium with the presence of Dr. Kadhim Jaffer Sulaiman, Director General of Specialized Medical Care. The 3- day training program joined 30 staff from the Sultanate different hospitals that consists of the Multidisciplinary team members of Doctors, Nurses and Respiratory Therapist that handles patients on Pediatrics.
Dr. Maryam Al Waili, Director of Supportive Services, welcomed the attendees and stressed on the importance of this workshop by exchanging knowledge and experiences, setting the standards related to Respiratory Care that focuses on the three interventions in Pediatric Critical Care namely Non-Invasive Ventilation, Mechanical Ventilation and High Frequency. One of the main objectives of this workshop is to provide the supporting knowledge, hands-on experience and the challenges of running both home and hospital ventilation services.
The workshop included a combination of basic lecture and Patient Simulation Essentials. The training program comprises number of lectures presented by experts from Oman and the GCC countries to implement both national and international programs based on the needs and resources of each hospitals in the Sultanate.
It should be noted that this is the first program internationally recognized by The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) & the International Council for Respiratory Care (ICRC) in the Ministry of Health, and Respiratory Care Services for quality Respiratory Care education programs.
