The 7th Gulf Nuclear Medicine (GNM) Conference, which is organized by the Royal Hospital, represented by the Nuclear Medicine Department and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) concluded its work on Tuesday at Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat.
the four-day conference recommended onconducting joint research among the Nuclear Medicine centers in the region, as well as establishing training and rehabilitation programs in order to build national capacity in the different services of the field. In addition to forming plans and strategies to integrate training of radioisotope in oncology treatment as well as starting the conduction of specialized workshops on the field.
Furthermore, the conference’s scientific committee reviewed several research and studies on the medical field in general and the nuclear medicine in particular whereby 21 research were accepted. The organizing committee evaluated the researches and selected three best research on medical physics field and the best three researches in the field of nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment.
On the sideline of the conference, the speakers visited the Molecular Imaging Center of the Royal Hospital where they spoke highly of the center’s modern equipment and technology employed, in addition to the high-level Nuclear Medicine services delivered in the Sultanate in general.
