Joint Declaration on Stroke Signed between Oman & Germany
12/3/2018A Joint Declaration of Intent on the Dissemination of a Quality-Assured Stroke Care has signed today (Monday) between the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate of the Federal Republic of Germany (MOEATAV) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the Sultanate of Oman at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
The declaration was signed by H.E. Dr. Volker Winning; MOEATAV Minister from the German side and H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health from the Omani side.
The declaration aimed at creating a platform between the two sides to further discuss the potential areas of collaboration and the potential projects and services in a manner that will be mutually beneficial to the sides.
The Minister of Health pointed out that signing this declaration would create more opportunities for training Omanis in the field of strokes and other medical fields.
The Declaration stipulated on establishment and certification of stroke care and case management and the organization of clinical research in accordance with high international standards. In addition to developing benchmark criteria for high-quality stroke care and training especially for nurses in the Sultanate in accordance with the European standards.
It also stipulated on strengthening cooperation between the two sides and exchanging practical experience regarding stroke care via telemedicine, as well as through the organizing conferences, symposiums or conventions. Furthermore, promoting cooperation between their respective healthcare institutions in the area of scientific research and development, as well as all theoretical and practical training activities.
