Video Conferencing for Muscat’s Health Institutions Launched
20/2/2018Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health the Directorate General for Health Services, Muscat Governorate represented by the Professional Development & Guidance launched today (Tuesday) the Video Conferencing system at the Ministry’s Headquarter. The launching event was attended by their Excellencies MOH Undersecretaries and number of MOH Senior Officials.
This launching came out of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting continuing education and professional development and its pursuit for establishing a platform for visual conferences systems since video conferencing is considered one of the most significant tele-education modes that allows access to educational services for employees at their workplace.
Video conferencing provides simultaneous transmission of full-motion video images and high-quality audio between multiple locations several far-distance.
The first phase of launching included the installment of eight main locations connected all to the office of His Excellency the Minister. The sites included the Directorate General of Royal Hospital, the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, Al Nahdha Hospital, A’seeb Specialized Polyclinic, Bushar Specialized Polyclinic, and the Professional Development department at the DGHS-Muscat. The Video Conferencing system will be promoted in the future to include further other health establishments.
A visual connection was made during the official launch that displayed live surgical operations, training workshops, cases at the Emergency department, analysis of diagnostic X-Ray.
