Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al-Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, the Second Specialized Hospitals and Centers Forum, organized by the Directorate General for Specialized Medical Care (DGSMC) inaugurated today (Tuesday) at the City Seasons Hotel.
The Forum gathered number of Directors General of tertiary and referral hospitals along with the directors of national specialized health centers.
The Forum aimed at identifying the achievements of the health institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Health (MOH), which have had a positive impact in upgrading the level of specialized health service in the Sultanate. Furthermore, underlining the achievements and initiatives made by all the tertiary and referral hospitals as well as the specialized centers that have contributed in raising the quality of specialized medical services. It also touched on core issues related to delivering and improving the health services and the appropriate procedures to overcome the challenges and difficulties in hospitals in order to improve the quality of health services.
Dr. Khadim Ja'far Suliman,DGSMC Director General said that the Forum aims to highlight the role of the hospitals in raising the efficiency of health services provided to the citizens in all the Governorates of the Sultanate. It also focuses on introducing new specialized service or developing an existing system to improve the specialized medical services.
The Forum discussed several issues including the report of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the hospitals, following-up the performance of hospitals management and training the Omani doctors in sup-specialties in the tertiary referral hospitals.
The Forum also shed the light on the initiative of the Blood Banks Department (National Registry of Blood Donors Initiative) concerned with establishing E-System linked all MOH blood banks and contain all the information of blood donors from all the various Governorates of the Sultanate.
