10/10/2018
The Ministry of Health (MOH) signed today (Wednesday) an agreement for construction of dialysis unit in Sur hospital funded by Al Jisr Foundation.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Darweesh Saif Al Maharbi, MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative & Financial Affairs, and Al Jisr’s General Manager Ahmed Hilal Al Harthi.
H.E. Dr. Al Maharbi emphasized the significance of public and private sector partnerships for the general interest, praising Al Jisr’s initiative.
Al Jisr’s General Manager stressed the institution’s continuing commitment to partnerships and cooperation with government institutions to serve the development of the country, including with regard to health services provided to citizens.
Sur hospital provides several services including the provision of dialysis treatment to various patients through its operating renal dialysis unit. Therefore, the construction of a new building for offering Dialysis service is a remarkable addition to the provided health services due to the increase in patients’ strength and congestion as well as the impossibility of critical treatment.
It should be noted that whilst the old building comprises 14 beds, accommodating around 34 patients, and 2 beds in three-isolation room, the proposed new building will be built in an area of 1150 square meters comprising of 20 beds that can cater to 60 patients a day.
The renal dialysis unit provides services to Wilayat’s as well as the Governorate residents.
