The Royal Hospital (RH) in collaboration with the Internal Medicine program of the Oman Medical Specialties Board (OMSB) held on Tuesday Annual Research Day at the RH Auditorium under the auspices of H.E. Sheikh Yahya Nasir Al Harasi, Wali of Bushar.

 The meeting commenced with OMSB word that emphasized the Board’s keenness on encouraging and developing the research skills within the health sector since this plays a major role in the advancement of medicine as well as the introduction of state-of-art methods for the treatment of popular communicable and non-communicable diseases in the country.

Among the 90 submitted research, the OMSB’s Scientific Research Committee selected 11 of them based on global scientific and research basis. These researches were refereed by Prof. Lamak Al Lamki, Dr. Athra Al Mawali, and Dr. Ahmed Al Qasmi.

All selected researches were discussed at the event and then evaluated by the committee. The best three research were finally announced after presentations that were consecutively, the prevalence of patent foramen ovale on Omani patients with Migraine by Dr. Hanan Al Naabi, Split dose bowel preparation before colonoscopy of PEG by Dr. Said Al Alawi, and Prevalence, Risk factors and antibiotics resistance profile of Helicobacter pylori by Dr. Umaima Al Salmi.
