Preparation of Construction work of Salalah Sultan Qaboos Hospital, Suwaiq, & Khasab Starts
13/11/2018H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health announced that the preparations for the construction work of the New Sultan Qaboos Hospital at Salalah, Suwaiq Hospital, and Khasab Hospital have been initiated.
The companies with the winning bids started mobilization of their equipment to the designated sites for the construction of the three hospitals, and the provision is made for their offices, warehouses, and workers.
His Excellency the Minister of Health emphasized that the construction of the new three hospitals will serve significant objectives, as they would provide comprehensive competent high-quality diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services for various medical cases covering the three Governorates and providing quality emergency services for all cases.

Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah:
The new project of Sultan Qaboos Hospital will be built on a total area of 845,000 sq. m. the main building is consist of ground floor, as well as six-floor with a total built area for the Hospital building estimated of 200,000 sq. m.
The Hospital has radiology department, which includes three x-ray machines, two CT scan machines, one MRI machine, another ultrasound devices, bone-density device, a mammogram, pharmacy and medical laboratories.
It also includes a day-care unit, which consist of endoscopy departments, lithotripsy machine, nephrology department, operating rooms for minor procedures, a physiotherapy unit, and an advanced chemotherapy unit.
The new Sultan Qaboos Hospital has about 700 beds spread over the men and women various inpatients wards such as surgery, internal medicine, gynecology & obstetric department, pediatrics, burns unit, children and adult ICUs, as well as (25) maternity rooms. In addition to two operating rooms, an integrated unit for accidents and emergency and isolation ward.
The Hospital includes administration offices, services buildings, medical and general store, sewage treatment plants, a helicopter airstrip, spare generators, drinking water purification equipment, cars parking and other general services.
The construction work, design, supervision and medical equipment for the new Sultan Qaboos Hospital have amounted 135 million Omani Riyal.

Suwaiq Hospital
The New Suwaiq Hospital will be built in an area of (278,349) sq. m. The three-floor hospital will have a built up area of (33,440) sq. m. and consists of an approximate 250-bed capacity.
The new Hospital consists of Accident & Emergency department, an outpatient clinics with different specialties, Radiology department equipped with a CT scan and 2-X-rays together with an MRI and their diagnostic modalities such as ultrasound and mammogram. It also consists of Pharmacy department, Physiotherapy Unit, as well as maternity unit with delivery suites and attached operating theatres. Furthermore, the Hospital will include Day-care unit that involves an endoscopy and lithrotripsy machine along with Renal Dialysis Unit. It also has an operating room for minor procedures along with a physiotherapy unit.
The Hospital will consist of adult, Pediatric and Coronary Care Unit as well as Special Care baby unit. Different sub-specialty wards as Surgical, Medical, Psychiatric, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics wards will be available.
the Hospital will provide other services such as administration and their ancillary services such as the catering or dietary department, cafeteria for staff and visitors, medical stores, general stores, flammable stores ,mortuary, Generators , Sewage Treatment Plant, RO Plant and a Helipad.
The construction work, design, supervision and medical equipment for Al-Suwaiq Hospital have amounted 77 million Omani Riyal.

Khasab Hospital
The new Khasab Hospital will be built on a land with a total area of 100,000 sq. m. The main building of the Hospital is consisting of three-floor with an area of 27,000 sq. m. including 20 outpatient clinics with various specialties, x-ray and CT departments, pharmacy for the outpatient clinics and Accidents & Emergency Department.
In addition, it has 150 beds spread over the men and women various inpatient wards such as surgery, internal medicine, gynecology & obstetric department and pediatric ward with 16 beds per ward. It also has a day-care unit with eight beds, nephrology unit with ten-beds, premature healthcare unit, an ICUs includes five-bed for adults and five-bed for children, four-bed in the burns unit and an integrated accidents & emergency unit.
The new project also includes a service building, sewage treatment plants, a helicopter airstrip, cars parking and other public services.
The construction work, design, supervision and medical equipment for the new Hospital have amounted 57 million Omani Riyal.
