The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Non-Communicable Diseases Department and in collaboration with the Gulf Group for the Study of Diabetes (GGSD-EASD) organized a training course on diabetes management at Sheraton Hotel.
The three-day course aimed at training the physicians and nurses working in diabetes clinics in the primary health care on the management of diabetes and its complications. The course included several lectures, case presentations and workshops.
The training course highlighted several issues including tackling diabetes at the national and regional levels, the latest developments in diabetes, developing a national diabetes prevention program, diabetes care in pregnancy and aging adults, the updates in diabetes nephropathy, managing type 2 diabetes in childhood…etc.
Around 200 medical cadres from the GCC countries and Pakistan have attended the training course.
