Training Workshop Highlights Update Technology in CT Imaging16/12/2018
The Private Health Institutions Department of the Directorate General of Health Services of Muscat Governorate (DGHS-MD), organized on Thursday training workshop on the Update Technology in Computerized Tomography (CT) imaging at the National University of Sciences & Technology in the presence of Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Ajmi, DGHS-MD Director General.
Around (200) radiologists, radiographers along with the quality specialists in the private health institutions attended the workshop.
Dr. Tahira Mohammed Ali, Director of Private Health Institutions Department pointed out that the workshop aims at introducing the radiologists and radiographers working in the private health institutions to the latest systems and principles followed in medical radiology by the Ministry of Health, as well as improving their performance in the field of quality control in radiography.
The training workshop addressed three main aspects including the stages of technological development in CT imaging, utilization of the qualitative leap in digital imaging technology and producing high-quality medical diagnosis images and the efficiency in early diagnosis for many diseases.
The second aspect of the workshop highlighted the radiology risks in the cases of misuse, the optimal use of the protocols and tools of the prevention and protection of radiation and collateral damages during imaging.
The third aspect focused on the optimal management of the critical cases in the CT unit.
