The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center and in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) completed recently the evaluation of the Patients Safety Friendly Hospital initiative (PSFH) for three government hospitals namely; Sur, Sinaw and Khasab hospitals, which were integrated last year in this initiative.
The initiative aims to raise the quality of health services in general and the safety of services provided to the community members from those institutions in particular, as well as the proper utilization of the available human and financial resources.
The WHO experts carried out the evaluation process for two-weeks by visiting Sur, Sinaw and Khasab hospitals. Various methods have been used during the evaluation process including reviewing all documents related to the work during providing health services and interviewing the senior officials, staff and patients. The experts also met the patients to determine the implementation of health services basics and standards.
The WHO experts also visited the different departments and units of the three hospitals in order to observe the implementation of initiative standards.
The good evaluation results reflected the commitment and concern of all staff and leaders in these institutions.
