Health Minister Honors Personnel Involved during Dhofar Exceptional climate Conditions
The Directorate General of Health Services at Dhofar Governorate staged recently an event to honor all workers who have participated in the exceptional climate conditions (Mokono and Luban cyclones) that hit Dhofar Governorate in 2018. The honoring included the administrative and technical health personnel (medical and allied medical categories), government, military, security agencies and private institutions.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health, with the presence of MOH’s Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs H.E. Dr. Darwish Saif Al-Maharbi, as well as the Director General of Health Services at Dhofar Governorate Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed al-Mushikhi.
The honoring program included a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed al-Mashikhi, where he noted that the climate conditions that hit during the last year was a very difficult challenge as it required a lot of preparation and coordination on all levels and sectors. Dr. Al Mushaikhi praised the efforts exerted by all sectors in protecting and caring for citizens
The Minster of Health then honoured the employees working in all sectors participating in the emergency plan.
It is worth mentioning that the Directorate General of Health Services in the governorate has carried out several precautionary measures preserved the lives of patients at different health institutions. At the forefront of these was the airlifting of 333 patients from the Sultan Qaboos hospital to the various Sultanate northern governorates, in addition to the transferring 56 people to Armed Forces Hospital in Salalah,
