The Ministry of Health (MOH) and World Health Organization (WHO) convened today (Tuesday) the MOH-WHO Collaborative Programme Annual Meeting at the Crown Plaza Hotel Muscat under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Talib Al-Hinai, MOH Undersecretary for Planning Affairs with the presence of H.E. Dr. Akjemal Magtymova, WHO Representative.
The meeting brought together directors general and health professionals from various departments of the Ministry of Health, WHO experts along with a number of health sector representatives in the Governorates.
The meeting is an annual platform to review the progress of the joint MOH-WHO cooperation within the framework of the 2018-2019 biannual programme, and to agree on priorities and targets for 2020-2023, aligning to the national priorities as well as to the WHO’s global and regional strategies.
During this meeting a consultative prioritization exercise aims at further aligning with national targets, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the WHO’s 13th Global Programme of Work and the WHO Vision 2023 for the Eastern-Mediterranean Region.
