MOH & WHO Highlight Non-Communicable Diseases Surveillance
11/3/2019The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Non-Communicable Diseases Department in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) organized today (Monday) training workshop on strengthen non-communicable diseases surveillance system at the Grand Millennium Hotel.
More than 40 directors in the Ministry and the private health institutions along with heads of communicable diseases departments in the health directorates over the governorates and health services providers in other government sectors are participating in the workshop. The workshop came in coincidence with hosting the Ministry of Health of experts from the WHO and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).The expert's visit aims to provide the technical support in the field of epidemiological surveillance in order to develop an overall national system for non-communicable diseases surveillance, review the global experiences in this field and how to make use of them locally, that reflect positively on the health system to raise the quality of the data, as well as strengthen the existing monitoring programs.
