MOH Organizes 2nd Health Research Forum
25/3/2019The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Studies & Researches Center in the Directorate General of Planning & Studies organized today (Monday) at the Hall of the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund the Second Forum for Health Research.
The Forum held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sarmi, Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher Education and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Talib Al-Hinai, MOH Undersecretary for Planning Affairs.
More than 150 researchers and those interested in health researches from the Ministry of Health, other ministries and sectors in the Sultanate participated in the Forum.
The Forum aimed to promote scientific research, support the researchers through honoring the staff interested in conducting health researches and publishing it, as well as activating the research climate to upgrade the health researches.
Dr. Adhra Al-Mawali, Director of Studies & Researches Center pointed out that the Ministry of Health has demonstrated a significant interest in health researches for its important and effective role in enhancing the health system and services. She added that the Ministry endeavored to improve the quality of health services implemented in its health and education institutions, developed the serious and practical plans to improve the capacity of researchers in the Ministry. In addition, the Ministry established a national structure to support scientific and research efforts.
Al-Mawali also stated that, in the past few years, the Studies & Researches Center has developed a road-map for the scientific research for the Ministry through preparing the Strategic Study of Health Researches 2050.
The Forum included honoring the winners of the best health research have announced, where Dr. Faisal Al-Ismaili and his team got the first place, followed by Dr. Suliman Al-Musharfi and his team in the second place then Dr. Amar Al-Kashmiri and his team won the third place.
The winners of the best young researcher award have been announced also during the Forum, where Dr. Haitham Al-Mahrooqi and his team ranked first place and Dr. Munthir Al-Maqbali got the second place.
