UNICEF Delegation Familiarizes Sultanate PHC System

H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al-Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health (MOH) for Health Affairs received today (Tuesday) at the main conference hall of the Ministry a delegation from the UNICEF, currently visiting the Sultanate.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Akjimal Magtimove, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the Sultanate along with a number of MOH officials.
The delegation's visit aims to highlight the effective role of the Sultanate in women and child rights, as well as the Sultanate's achievements in achieving sustainable development. It also aims to familiarize the delegation to the primary healthcare (PHC) system in the sultanate, the role of the PHC workers and to highlight the partnership between the government and private sectors in providing the PHC, medical equipment, vaccination and education programs.
During the meeting, Dr. Said bin Harib al-Lamki, PHC Director General touched upon the primary healthcare services in Oman. In addition, Dr. Munira Al-Hashmi, Director of Quality assurance & Patients Safety addressed the regulation mechanism of the private healthcare establishments in the Sultanate.
