2nd Royal Hospital International Conference to Kick off Tomorrow
10/4/2019Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur AL-Said, Advisor of His Majesty the Sultan and Chairperson of The Research Council, the Second Royal Hospital International Conference will kick off tomorrow (Thursday) at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center.
The Conference is organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Royal Hospital in cooperation with the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), the Oman Medical Association along with a number of government and private health institutions.
The opening ceremony will include speeches of Dr. Qasim AL-Salmi, Director of Royal Hospital, Dr. Bassim Al-Bahrani, Chairperson of Organizing Committee of the Conference along with a scientific lecture about the innovation in patient safety delivered by Lord Prof. Darzi Of Denham.
The three-day Conference aims to review the latest developments in medicine, draw upon the regional and international expertise and learn about the newest techniques, medications and devices of the pharmaceutical companies.
The Conference will include simultaneously a series of conferences of most specialties of the Royal Hospital.
The Conference is targeting the medical and paramedical staff from the Royal Hospital, the health institutions in the Sultanate, the private sectors, civil associations.
More than 300 international and local speakers specialized in different medical specialties will participate in the Conference.
Through (18) workshops, (120) scientific sessions and (400) lectures, the Conference will discuss many specialized topics including the Anesthesia, Critical Care, Medical Responsibility, pediatric, internal medicine, hyperbaric medicine, Quality & Patient Safety, histopathology, Oncology, Nursing, gynecology, Pharmacy, general surgery, urology, Radiology & Molecular Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, staff health & wellness, as well as Administrative & Financial Affairs.
It is worth mentioning that a number of workshops related to the urology and scientific researches have started today at the lectures hall of the Royal Hospital before the inauguration ceremony.
