Al-Nahdha Hospital, represented by the Clinical Dietary Department organized today (Sunday) the 1^st International Conference on Clinical Nutrition "the Effect of Nutrition & Gut Microbiota on Human Health" under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Talib Al-Hinai, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs at Al-Shafaq Club.

The two-day Conference gathers around 120 medical and paramedical staff, nutritionists, nurses, pharmacists from government and private health institutions in the Sultanate and abroad.

Dr. Eman Al-Hinai, Head of Clinical Dietary Department of Al-Nahdah Hospital pointed out that the Conference aims at discussing the latest developments in nutrition and enteric bacteria research, exchanging knowledge with the experts from the inside Sultanate and outsides in this field, as well as raising the nutrition and health awareness in the Omani society.

She added that through this Conference, a number of scientific recommendations and guidelines will be raised for improving the nutrition in the community, as well as strengthen the current researches in this field, which will lead to enhancing the nutrition awareness among the various community members. 

The International Conference covers many important topics including the gut microbiota and appetite regulation, the effect of nutrition behavior on human health, obesity, metabolic syndrome…etc.

The Conference also touched upon a research study about the effect of food consumption on Omani population health.

In addition, the Conference includes an exhibition of healthy nutrition and products.

At the end of the opening ceremony, the MOH Undersecretary honored the lecturers and members of main organizing committee of the Conference along with the sponsors.
