H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al- Saidi, Minister of Health left the country on (Monday) for Noordwijk to take part in the Second Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance, hosted by the Netherlands on 18 and 20 of June.

The aim of this conference is to provide policy makers with a platform (Ministries of Health and Agriculture, senior officials from World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)), to discuss results and successes of the overall implementation of the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance.

The conference focuses on the gaps and obstacles in the Global Action Plan and search for ways to close these gaps. It will also address the required support needed for multi-sectoral implementation/cooperation as identified by in the Tripartite.

Furthermore, the conference showcases good practices in implementing national action plans and share experiences with solutions that address the obstacles identified.
